Notre Dame TE Mitchell Evans, team’s leading receiver, to miss remainder of 2023 season with torn ACL

Notre Dame tight finish Mitchell Evans will miss the remainder of the 2023 season after struggling a torn ACL in the second one part of the team’s 57-8 win victory towards Pittsburgh, trainer Marcus Freeman announced Monday. Evans is the team’s leading receiver this season. 

Evans, a junior, had 5 receptions for 66 yards towards Pitt earlier than leaving the competition. He ends the 2023 season with 29 catches for 422 yards receiving and a landing. He had a season-high 134 yards receiving all over the Irish’s Sept. 30 win at Duke. He in the past overlooked the team’s Sept. 16 house win towards Central Michigan with a separate damage.

The absence of Evans leaves senior extensive receiver Chris Tyree as Notre Dame quarterback Sam Hartman’s most sensible to be had goal at 19 receptions for 417 yards and 3 touchdowns at the season.
