North Texas school districts get grant money for school safety

FORT WORTH, Texas — Three school districts within the North Texas space had been awarded a mixed greater than $1 million in federal grants totaling to reportedly enhance school safety measures, U.S. Senator John Cornyn introduced Thursday.

Fort Worth ISD, Lake Worth ISD and Farmersville ISD had been all chosen for this federal grant money. The funding comes by means of the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs and Office of Community Oriented Policing Services.

These two packages had been lately licensed by Cornyn’s Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which was signed into legislation on June 25, 2022. Farmersville ISD acquired $500,000, Fort Worth ISD acquired $359,591 and Lake Worth ISD acquired $273,217.
