DALLAS — Outrage is rising round the world after the death of a 22-year-old Iranian lady in police custody.
Reports out of Iran mentioned Mahsa Amini was arrested by police and died about 10 days in the past.
This has outraged Iranian Americans, who are actually taking to the streets and making their voices hears.
North Texas Iranian women and men joined the protests over the death of Amini.
The 22-year-old died after being detained for allegedly sporting a hijab improperly.
“Just her hair was out of her hijab a little bit. They beat her so bad, into a coma. She died the next day,” mentioned Arrash Pirasteh, the organizer of a protest on Sunday.
“We are worried about that and it can happen to our family as well,” mentioned Dr. Hedieh Davanloo.
Dr. Hedieh Davanloo, a physician in the Dallas space, mentioned she’s drained of the unrest in Iran and the way girls are being handled.
“We are worried about them,” mentioned Davanloo.
Day after day, with barely any web in Iran, Davanloo waits by the telephone to listen to from family members.
“You don’t hear from them, and you think they’re in prison. Maybe they’re killed,” mentioned Davanloo.
Nearly all of the protesters had a narrative to inform. One protester mentioned their beloved one was arrested for portray her nails and posting it on social media. She was pressured to delete all of her social media accounts.
Davanloo mentioned any lady in Iran could be focused for no motive.
“You can just walk down the street, and they come with moral police,” mentioned Davanloo.
“Our goal is to create a united front,” mentioned Pirasteh.
