SARASOTA COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health in Sarasota County issued a no-swim advisory for a number of seashores in Sarasota County after micro organism was discovered within the water on Monday.
The DOH-Sarasota issued a no swim advisory for the next seashores:
- Siesta Key Beach
- North Lido Beach
- Lido Casino
The seashores stay open, however wadding, swimming, and water recreation are usually not beneficial when no swim advisories are in place.
According to the DOH-Sarasota, an advisory is issued when the variety of enterococcus micro organism discovered within the water throughout testing are unsuitable for swimming. The DOH-Sarasota stated enterococcus micro organism may come from pure sources akin to birds, marine wildlife, and stormwater runoff.
The DOH-Sarasota resampled the seashores on Thursday and could have up to date outcomes on Friday.
