No. 22 Baseball beats Sam Houston 9-2


AUSTIN, Texas – No. 22 Texas Baseball scored seven runs within the first inning and rolled to a 9-2 win over Sam Houston on Tuesday at UFCU Disch-Falk Field.

Zane Morehouse pitched 5 innings and allowed only one run on 4 hits. He struck out 5 batters and improved to 3-0 on the season.

Ivan Melendez went 2-for-5, hitting his 26th homer of the season and drove in 4 runs. Douglas Hodo III, Austin Todd and Skyler Messinger additionally had two hits apiece.

The Longhorns (36-17) jumped everywhere in the Bearkats with seven runs on six hits and batting round within the backside of the primary inning.
