Anthony Cook pressured a late fumble with Iowa State driving on the Texas 28-yard line to protect the house victory on Saturday.
AUSTIN, Texas – Anthony Cook pressured a late fumble with Iowa State driving on the Texas 28-yard line to protect a 24-21 victory on Saturday at Darrell Okay Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium.
Bijan Robinson recorded his fifth straight 100-yard speeding recreation and 14th of his profession with 135 yards.
Quinn Ewers accomplished 17-of-26 passes for 172 yards and three touchdowns.
KEY STATISTICS
• After stopping Iowa State on and three and out on their first drive of the sport, Keilan Robinson blocked the Cyclones punt.
• Iowa State took a 7-0 lead and was driving within the pink zone when Jaylan Ford picked off a cross in the long run zone to place a halt to the drive.
• Texas drove 80 yards on 9 performs and tied the sport on a 15-yard landing strike from Quinn Ewers to Xavier Worthy.
• The Longhorn struck once more with 13 seconds left within the half with a five-yard landing cross from Ewers to Jordan Whittington. Bijan Robinson had a 25-yard rush and a 26-yard catch on the nine-play, 80-yard drive to place Texas up 14-7.
• Bert Auburn began the scoring for Texas within the second half with a 31-yard subject objective to place Texas up 17-7.
• Iowa State scored back-to-back touchdowns to take a 21-17 lead with 10:58 to play within the fourth quarter.
• On fourth and three yards to go on the Iowa State three-yard line, Quinn Ewers transformed a landing cross to Xavier Worthy to place Texas up 24-21. Fifty-nine of the 75 yards on the drive had been gained on the bottom, included three straight rushes of over 10 yards.
• With Iowa State driving deep into Texas territory, Anthony Cook pressured a fumble on the Texas 28-yard line and the Longhorns recovered to take over possession.
