“Like I said, we all put in everything into this, hours and a lot, a lot of time, our life revolves around this, and of course it is frustrating. Obviously all credit to them, we were in a dog fight, and they made one more play than we did, and that’s reflected in the score. “I got triple teamed, and they were triple teaming me the whole game. I’m not making that as an excuse because I beat the triple team today. But they got a good block, they got a good block, they were out front. I tried to chase him down, I obviously wasn’t close enough. I tried to track him down, and I got hit. Whether it was on the side or in the back it wasn’t good enough. It wasn’t up to my standards, it wasn’t up to the Jets standards. I put it on me. I’ll go and work harder, go in the film room more. To do whatever I can to make this team better. To make the special teams group better. It’s not all on me, it’s eleven guys on the field. “However we lost, it was crushing because we lost that way. We still have seven games left, a lot of football. So it was one game, we’ve got to move on, stay positive, keep our momentum moving and get ready for Chicago. That’s out only worry right now is Chicago. “It was a tough loss, that’s for sure. But it’s not the end of the world. We have a chance to go out there next week, and try to put our best foot forward and be great as a team. So that’s what we’re looking forward too.”

“I was just trying to get down there and do my responsibility as the first person down. At the end of the day no matter what the punt is, as a unit we’re not supposed to allow that to happen. It doesn’t matter if the punt is high or low. As a punt unit you can’t let that happen, so it’s on everybody.”

(On the offensive battle at present)

“It was just a weird game out there today. It seemed like we couldn’t get anything going. The running game, the passing game, I wish I knew how to answer these questions. Personally I thought it was an odd game too. We’ve just got to be better as a unit. Whether it’s the run game or the pass game, everybody has a hand in it. We all had plays we could have made or should have done better and we didn’t. As a unit we all have to look at ourselves personally and figure out what we should have done better in the future to not have a performance like that again.”

“We had one of those routes and we knew we wanted to win the game. We felt like we had the opportunity to win the game on offense, time and time again we let it pass us up. It is frustrating, towards the end of the game some of those things get magnified. Like I said we have missed on some opportunities earlier in the game and they kept building. Frustration is a part of this game for sure.”

(On repair the passing recreation)

“It starts in the practice week, it has to be better, the things we see and don’t call out, it has to start getting called out. This is unacceptable, no one wants to feel like this. It is just not enough, you need to do something about it. Hopefully this is a wake-up for us in the facility. We need to get on our details.”

(On the play of the protection)

“We had a great game plan. Obviously it wasn’t good enough. I think Coach did a good job of putting us in the correct position. We have to capitalize more. They got a couple out on us, we have to go correct that, but overall I think we did well. It’s a mindset. You go out every game expecting to shut them out. It’s just another game, another opportunity, to do that. The Patriots have some great players, some great running backs who break a lot of tackles. We understood that. We understood we had to get people to the ball and I think we did a good job of that.”

“It goes back to Coach putting us in good positions, understanding how to rush with each other, play off one another. The game plan was great. I can’t really say too many bad things about what we are doing as far as pass rush. We expect to win every one-on-one.”

“It hurts watching something like that. You don’t want to see anything like that. You just want a blade of grass to defend, and we didn’t get that. We could have done better throughout the game and maybe that wouldn’t have happened. Hindsight is 20/20 and we have to go back and learn from that.”

“We were doing our best to not let the other team score and just taking it play-by-play, communicating and trusting what we see out there. We were really confident. That is one of toughest games I’ve played in as far as how the outcome went. We are going to stick together. We have got to watch the film and get better. Me, myself, I have to watch the film and get better. I gave up about four catches. They were tight windows, but four catches. Short yardage but I have to look at the film and grow from there. It was the game we wanted. We were smiling, we were happy. The defense thought it was going to overtime. We were ready to go to see what would happen from there.”

“We’re a team. The word I would use to define this team is ‘great.’ Our point differential in the fourth quarter is number-one in the league. There’s a reason for that. We have a lot of guys who play for each other and we don’t are about the accolades just want to play for one another, dominate and play Jets football.”
