New York City under travel advisory for messy but manageable commute; Schools remain open

NEW YORK — All 5 boroughs are under a travel advisory Monday, and drivers must be expecting a messy but manageable travel. 

CBS New York’s Elijah Westbrook is are living in Queens, the place the Belt Parkway used to be close down for a number of hours in a single day.

Crews labored to transparent drains and decrease water stage, and the roadway has since reopened. 

The MTA says there’s no affect to mass transit, but the company is able to care for any storm-related problems, like timber on tracks. 

So some distance, no primary injury has been reported around the town.

Cellphone video from previous Sunday confirmed lanes blocked off on Laurel Parkway as water pooled to unhealthy ranges for drivers. Thankfully, no on used to be harm or stranded.

Mayor Eric Adams stated because the hurricane intensifies, crews will proceed to observe high-flood zones.

“You really want to take the necessary precautions, travel advisory, high winds, so be sure if you don’t have to travel outdoors, please don’t,” Adams stated. “Let the city employees do their job. We’re going to be moving around to different locations and making sure the catch basins are clear.”

The mayor stated as of early Sunday night time colleges had been to be open Monday, but town officers are looking at the hurricane traits carefully.
