New Witte Museum exhibition features rarely seen photo of Selena


SAN ANTONIO – In making ready for his 50-year retrospective “Mi Cultura” opening Saturday on the Witte Museum, photographer Al Rendon made a shocking discovery amongst masses of movie rolls.

“The roll of film had three shots,” Rendon stated of the past due mythical Tejano queen Selena again when she was once the hole act for comic Paul Rodriguez in 1990.

One particularly “was really great,” he stated.

The semi-sideview of Selena on degree turns out to seize the power and fervour she would transform recognized for because the “Queen of Tejano Music.”

Rendon stated he’s heard so much of excellent song over the past 50 years. So a lot so, he stated, “I have hearing aids now. I didn’t have ear protection too much back in those early days.”

“I would always go with her to drop off the film and pick up the pictures,” Rendon stated. “I always had a curiosity about it.”

“I couldn’t think of a better place to have my exhibit than at the Witte Museum. Every picture has a story,” he stated.
