TERRELL, Texas — ProfessionalRodeo Hall of Famer Neal Gay died on Aug. 11 at his ranch in Terrell, Texas, in keeping with the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. He was 96 years previous.
The Fort Worth Stock Show & Rodeo issued an announcement on its Facebook web page about Gay’s passing, which additionally included an announcement from Gay’s household. It reads:
“We are saddened to study of the passing of Rafter G Rodeo’s founder and patriarch, Neal Gay. Neal was a really legendary rodeo chief who performed a pivotal position within the FWSSR’s World’s Original Indoor Rodeo for many years. His legacy lives on by his hardworking and devoted household which are taking Rafter G Rodeo to thrilling new heights. Please be a part of us in protecting everybody at Rafter G Rodeo in your ideas and prayers.
Below is an announcement from the Gay household.
On behalf of everybody right here at the Gay household and the prolonged household and associates of Rafter G Rodeo, we’re saddened to announce the passing of our beloved father, grandfather and founder Neal Gay.
We are so very grateful for the 95 years of knowledge, friendship and recollections we now have shared with so many. We are at present within the planning phases of a memorial service and can present information very quickly.
Thank you all to your ideas and prayers as we work to honor this nice man.”
Gay was inducted into the ProfessionalRodeo Hall of Fame in Colorado Springs, Colo., in 1993. His profession started in 1945 in Atoka, Okla.
