CUTLER BAY, Fla. – Police arrested a Miami woman on two criminal fees Tuesday after accusing her of the use of her process as a third-party customer support agent to defraud AT&T out of greater than $200,000.
Authorities stated Brittney Nicole Williams, 32, of Coconut Grove, used to be ready to fraudulently send 147 units to South Florida sooner than she used to be stuck.
According to an arrest record, Williams hit the bottom operating after she used to be employed at Alorica’s name heart at 19500 S. Dixie Highway in Cutler Bay, putting fraudulent orders “immediately,” beginning on June 16, 2022.
AT&T and different firms outsource distributors just like the California-based Alorica to carrier their consumers.
Police stated she created fraudulent direct orders the use of account numbers for current AT&T trade consumers, added new strains to their accounts and shipped units to addresses within the Miami space, together with her house on Charles Terrace.
Williams “took advantage of the fact that these are large businesses with a significant number of accounts (i.e., Gap, Inc., Spirit Aviation, World Fuel, etc.), so adding lines to these accounts resulted in a delay in AT&T and the customer identifying the fraudulent activity,” a Miami-Dade detective wrote within the record.
According to the arrest record, Williams’ remaining order used to be on Nov. 10 and an AT&T investigator alerted police to the subject on Nov. 28.

“Since this activity was perpetuated by (Williams) working as a representative of an authorized vendor of AT&T, AT&T is responsible for the equipment losses, and as such, has adjusted those charges from the customers’ bills,” the detective wrote. “All the customers impacted have been notified and made whole by AT&T.”
Police stated AT&T’s losses totaled $222,251. They arrested Williams Tuesday night at the Wayside Fruit & Vegetable Market, situated at 10070 SW 57th Ave. in Pinecrest, on fees of first-degree grand robbery and arranged scheme to defraud.
She bonded out of the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center Wednesday, in step with court docket information.
