Miami shooting kills former St. Thomas University basketball player and his childhood friend


A shooting killed two childhood pals who had been in a black automobile on Saturday afternoon in Miami.

Antoine Joe, a St. Thomas University graduate and former basketball player, was once 26 years outdated. His friend Tyler Royal was once 24 years outdated.

“He was an innocent person who lost his life,” Joe’s sister Ashley Joe stated thru tears on Monday. “He was a good person. He loved basketball. He had a pure soul and I feel like this world wasn’t ready for him.”

Officer Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the Miami Police Department, stated the shooting was once at about 4 p.m., close to the intersection of Northwest 12 Avenue and 42 Street, in Miami’s Liberty City.

Ashley Joe stated her brother was once the eldest of 4, so some other sister and two brothers also are grieving after his homicide. She stated he had finished his bachelor’s level and his subsequent objective as he excited about his schooling was once to earn a grasp’s level.

“I see him every time I look in the mirror; I see him when I close my eyes,” the distraught sister stated. “I don’t need an explanation as to why. I just need to know who.”
