Miami family’s wounded dog waits for surgery after help from ‘amazing rescue partners’ in Broward


MIAMI – A teenage boy used to be ready to have his dog again whilst animal advocates have been doing the whole thing they might to avoid wasting his puppy’s leg after a capturing on Thursday in Miami’s Liberty City.

Jayden Sparks, a 14-year-old scholar, stated he used to be devastated when his 14-month-old rottweiler Mellow used to be shot and didn’t come again house.

“I started crying a little bit — I love him,” Jayden stated on Wednesday.

Jayden’s father, Clinton Lee, stated he had let Mellow out when he heard a gunshot and noticed him wounded. He rushed to take him to look a veterinarian.

“I left the hospital, vet hospital, I came home, I was home 3 hours and I called back and they sent the dog to animal control,” Lee stated.

Dr. Maria Serrano, a veterinarian on the Miami-Dade Animal Services, stated Mellow had a fractured forearm and a few ruptured tendons.

“Generally, this is an injury in a shelter that’s complicated to repair,” Serrano stated. “It requires a specialized surgeon and so normally we would amputate the leg.”
