Miami Beach condo evacuated over structural issue | NewsRadio WFLA


Miami Beach, FL – A South Florida condominium was evacuated on Thursday after officers deemed the constructing structurally unsafe.

The Port Royal condo constructing at 6969 Collins Avenue in Miami Beach was evacuated as a result of an unsafe construction discover.

Officials say through the condo’s 50-year recertification, the constructing’s structural engineer discovered “excessive deflection” in a concrete beam within the storage degree.

In a press release, the town of Miami Beach stated “the tenant relocation ordinance will apply to those that lease within the constructing as required by municipal code.”
