Waco – Texas Men’s Tennis accomplished day one at the ITA Texas Regional Championships in Waco on Thursday as junior Eshan Talluri received his singles qualifying comfort match after falling in his opening match earlier within the day.
Four different Longhorns are set to start play on Friday, together with juniors Nevin Arimilli, Cleeve Harper and Evin McDonald, together with senior Chih Chi Huang. Arimilli and McDonald will play each singles and doubles, partnering in doubles, whereas Harper will play solely singles, and Huang solely doubles, pairing with Talluri.
After being downed in three units by Elias Peter of Lamar, 6-3, 2-6, 6-1, within the qualifying draw, Talluri rebounded within the comfort with a 7-5, 7-6 (5) win over Pietro Perego of Incarnate Word.
Play on Friday will encompass two rounds of doubles and one spherical of singles with each pairs of Longhorns selecting up a first-round bye.
