Meet the Gators: Dale Thomas

Batting second in the 2022 Meet the Gators collection is switch infielder Dale Thomas, who involves Florida after three seasons at Coastal Carolina. As a local of De Leon Springs, Fla., Thomas attended Bishop Moore High School throughout his prep years. He will put on No. 1 for the Orange & Blue.

Fresh off 2022 All-Sun Belt Second Team honors, Thomas set profession highs final season in video games began (59), video games performed (59), hits (62), batting common (.284), slugging (.688), dwelling runs (13), triples (two), doubles (15), runs (49), RBI (49) and stolen bases (5). All advised, he slashed .281/.376/.481 throughout his Coastal Carolina profession with 18 homers, three triples, 19 doubles, 84 runs, 75 RBI and eight steals whereas posting a .951 fielding share.
 
Going again to his Bishop Moore days, Thomas starred as a two-sport athlete in baseball and soccer. In his senior marketing campaign, he hit .323 with 4 dwelling runs and 9 doubles. As a consequence, Thomas completed with a .317 profession batting common, 23 extra-base hits, 60 runs and 37 RBI throughout his three-year prep profession.

Thomas was named a 2019 5A-8 All-District Team choice at shortstop whereas accumulating Gold Glove Awards in consecutive seasons from 2018-19. Thanks to his standout efficiency, he helped energy Bishop Moore to three-straight district championships.
 
In 2019, Thomas was tabbed a Perfect Game Preseason All-American and Preseason Florida All-Region choice after receiving PG Preseason Underclass All-American Honorable Mention standing the yr prior. From 2018-19, he was a PG Top Prospect Team member.
 
As the son of Dennis and Michelle Thomas, Dale has one brother, Jonathan, and one sister, Kirsten. He is pursuing his grasp’s diploma in entrepreneurship at the University of Florida. Following commencement, Thomas’ purpose is to grow to be a Navy Seal.
