FORT LAUDERDALE (CBSMiami) – The mom of South Florida teen Aden Perry, who died attempting to save lots of one other teen whose automobile crashed right into a lake, acquired the Mayor’s Medal of Valor on Tuesday morning.
Perry’s mom accepted the Medal of Valor on behalf of her son’s heroic actions in attempting to save lots of Venkata Krishnamurthy the evening of April 19.

The Medal of Valor is given to those that put “Service before Self.” There will even be a proclamation to honor Aden’s reminiscence.
Perry was on a stroll together with his mom within the Residences of Sawgrass Mills neighborhood alongside NW twelfth Avenue close to Silver Palm Boulevard, simply north of I-595 when the unimaginable occurred.
They each witnessed a car crash into the water. Without hesitation, Aden jumped into motion. Tragically, as he dove in to rescue fellow teenager, Venkata Sai Krishnamurthy, his head hit a rock underwater. His dad mentioned he didn’t endure.

Both teenagers died that evening.
Aden’s father was a former chief with Miami-Dade Fire Rescue and had his father’s selfless spirit.
His household can be establishing a scholarship in his honor to assist others pursuing instructional paths in drugs and science.
Aden was a junior at Western High School.
