ROCKVILLE, Md. — An oral surgeon was once convicted on Friday of a murder price in the death of his female friend who overdosed on anesthetic medicine that he administered at his Maryland house.

Jurors heard testimony that James Ryan, 50, arrange an intravenous stand to manage the addictive medicine to his 25-year-old female friend, Sarah Harris, who was once discovered useless at his Montgomery County house in January 2022.

Ryan faces a most of 55 years in jail when he’s sentenced at a date to be decided, The Washington Post reported.

An post-mortem discovered that Harris died of intoxication from ketamine, propofol and diazepam.

Prosecutors argued that Ryan confirmed “an extreme indifference” to Harris’ lifestyles by way of often supplying her with medicine as her dependancy and well being worsened. She weighed 83 kilos (37 kilograms) on the time of her death.

Montgomery County Assistant State’s Attorney Jennifer Harrison stated Ryan was once a talented oral surgeon who knew how dangerous the medication might be.

“And despite his vast knowledge and training in the field, he continuously provided these dangerous, deadly anesthetic drugs to Sarah Harris over a period of time even as he watched her deteriorate before his eyes,” the prosecutor instructed jurors.

Ryan didn’t testify at his trial in Montgomery County Circuit Court. His legal professionals argued that Harris died of both suicide or an unintended overdose that she administered to herself. Defense legal professional Thomas DeGonia instructed jurors that Harris had requested Ryan for ketamine for “relief from her depression” months earlier than her death.

Harris started running for Ryan and relationship him after she was once a affected person at his place of job in Germantown, Maryland.
