Man caught on video beating shark with hammer on Florida beach, police say


INDIAN HARBOUR BEACH, Fla. – Video reveals a person beating a shark over the top with a hammer on a Florida seashore, prompting an investigation by wildlife officers.

Indian Harbour Police Department mentioned the incident occurred Tuesday afternoon at Bicentennial Beach Park.

According to the division, two males had been fishing when the shark was dropped at shore. Video from Harbour House’s 24/7 dwell surf cam reveals one of many males hitting it on the top a number of occasions with a hammer.

Video then reveals one of many males making an attempt to launch the shark again into the ocean and dragging it into the water.

The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission is investigating the incident and mentioned investigators have recognized the person within the video. His identify has not been launched.

FWC mentioned it “takes potential resource violations seriously.”
