LSU DB Greg Brooks Jr. diagnosed with rare form of brain cancer after surgery to remove tumor

LSU defensive again Greg Brooks Jr. was once diagnosed with medulloblastoma, a rare form of brain cancer, the college introduced Wednesday. Brooks, who’s in his 2nd season with the Tigers after moving from Arkansas, underwent surgery in September to remove a brain tumor and have been looking forward to effects from a biopsy. 

Brooks has no longer gave the impression at the box for LSU because the group’s Week 2 house win over Grambling State. Ahead of the surgery, Brooks was once dominated out of the Tigers’ victory towards Mississippi State for what trainer Brian Kelly described as a “medical emergency.” Brooks have been dealing with bouts of vertigo within the offseason, in accordance to Kelly.

A fund has been launched by way of the Tiger Athletic Foundation, a personal, non-profit company supporting LSU athletics, to lend a hand quilt clinical bills for Brooks and his circle of relatives as he continues remedy. 

Brooks, who was once credited with 8 tackles throughout his two appearances for LSU this season, made a right away affect for the Tigers in 2022 upon becoming a member of this system. He began in all 14 video games as LSU gained the SEC West Division and later notched a bowl sport victory towards Purdue. Brooks ended 2022 with 63 overall tackles, 4 move breakups and two interceptions. He in the past totaled 103 tackles in 3 seasons with the Razorbacks.
