LinkedIn cuts more than 600 workers, about 3% of workforce

SUNNYVALE, Calif. — LinkedIn stated Monday it’s shedding loads of staff amounting to about 3% of the social media corporate’s workforce.

The Microsoft-owned profession community is slicing about 668 roles throughout its engineering, product, ability and finance groups.

“Talent changes are a difficult, but necessary and regular part of managing our business,” the corporate stated in a remark.

The activity cuts apply every other more than 700 layoffs LinkedIn introduced in May, in addition to hundreds more this 12 months from guardian corporate Microsoft, which has owned the professional-networking carrier since purchasing it for $26 billion in 2016.

LinkedIn assists in keeping rising and stated its annual income surpassed $15 billion for the primary time within the fiscal 12 months that led to June. The carrier, headquartered in Sunnyvale, California, makes cash from ads at the platform in addition to from customers who pay to subscribe for top rate options.
