Brooke Vick Appointed as Muhlenberg’s Chief Diversity Officer
Vick, who has served as the College’s affiliate provost for school and variety initiatives since her arrival in 2018, is the inaugural appointment to the place.

“I am pleased to appoint Dr. S. Brooke Vick as the College’s first chief diversity officer and associate provost for equity and inclusion,” Muhlenberg President Kathleen Harring stated. “Over the past several years, she has served as an integral partner and collaborator in Muhlenberg’s efforts to ensure our community meets our commitments to diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging. I look forward to working with her as we continue this essential work.”
In her new position, Vick will serve as a member of the President’s senior workers as effectively as the Provost’s senior workers. As chair of the President’s Diversity Advisory Council, she is going to collaborate with the President to determine annual priorities, oversee the event of an annual Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging (DEIB) report and create a College dashboard. Vick may also characterize Muhlenberg at consortial, regional and nationwide conferences that handle these priorities. She can be accountable for the coordination and help of college and workers in advancing the College’s DEIB objectives in studying, instructing and operations.
Vick will work with educational departments and workers places of work to develop insurance policies and practices that maintain an inclusive and equitable neighborhood. In collaboration with groups throughout campus, together with the Offices of Multicultural Life, Title IX and Equity, Prevention Education, Religious & Spiritual Life and Human Resources; the Muhlenberg Center for Teaching and Learning; and different areas of the College, she is going to associate to create and help programming that strengthens campus local weather for all members of the Muhlenberg neighborhood.
Vick earned her B.A. in psychology, with a minor in ladies’s research, from Colorado College and her M.A. and Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She regularly authors works, presents at skilled conferences, and leads workshops on topics together with antiracist pedagogy and intergroup dialogue, inclusive management in larger training and the kinds of school environments that help the success and retention of scholars, school and workers, and her earlier instructing expertise contains programs within the psychology of prejudice, social stigma and intergroup relations.
