BEAUMONT, Texas — Jury selection has started in the trial of Gustavo Gonzalez Chavez, 71, of Beaumont, who’s accused of continuing sexual abuse of a child.
Judge Raquel West is presiding over the trial in the 252nd District Court.
Chavez was once indicted in January of 2022. The abuse allegedly began when sufferer was once 8-years-old, consistent with the possible motive affidavit.
The abuse is claimed to have came about over a two 12 months length. Chavez carried out a sex act with the sufferer a couple of instances, consistent with the affidavit.
The sufferer made an outcry to the police.
