Jay Leno injured again, breaks collarbone, knees and ribs



Leno was beforehand injured in November when his face and higher torso caught on fireplace whereas repairing one other classic car.

WASHINGTON — Jay Leno, the enduring comic and former “Tonight Show” host, seems to have injured himself once more in one other accident months after a storage fireplace that stored him from the Las Vegas Strip for months.

Leno told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that he had crashed a bike he was repairing on Jan. 17, breaking his collarbone, a number of ribs and each of his kneecaps. 

“Just last week, I got knocked off my motorcycle,” he advised the newspaper. “So I’ve acquired a damaged collarbone. I’ve acquired two damaged ribs. I’ve acquired two cracked kneecaps.”

But he confused that he was okay after the crash.

“But I’m OK!” Leno said. “I’m OK, I’m working. I’m working this weekend.”

Leno stated he was engaged on one among his classic autos, a 1940 Indian bike, and had taken it on a check drive. While driving, he observed the scent of fuel leaking from the bike, and turned down a facet avenue to analyze it.  

“So I turned down a side street and cut through a parking lot, and unbeknownst to me, some guy had a wire strung across the parking lot but with no flag hanging from it,” Leno told the Review-Journal by phone. “So, you realize, I didn’t see it till it was too late. It simply clothesline me and, increase, knocked me off the bike.”

The comic is well-known for his love of classic vehicles and bikes, repairing them in his Los Angeles residence and driving them across the space. But restoring previous autos could be a harmful passion. 

Leno has been recovering for months from burns brought on by a storage fireplace final 12 months. In November, whereas he was repairing the gasoline line in a 1907 White Steam Car, a fireplace broke out in his storage. He suffered second-degree burns over a part of his higher physique and face. 

Despite the unfortunate streak he is had with accidents, Leno remains to be set to return to the Las Vegas Strip on March 31, when he’ll debut at a brand new venue: the Encore Theater at Wynn Las Vegas.
