‘I thought I was dead:’ Boy, 10, recounts being shot in crossfire in Pompano drive-by

POMPANO BEACH, Fla. – A courageous 10-year-old boy spoke to Local 10 News Monday after being shot whilst he was in the crossfire of a drive-by capturing in Pompano Beach remaining month.

The Broward Sheriff’s Office launched surveillance video Monday of the capturing that left the boy injured.

“Surveillance video of the crime shows the victim dribbling a basketball while crossing the street. As the child bounces the ball, another subject wearing a green hoodie and long black pants enters the frame riding a scooter. A few seconds later, a gray sedan drives by, and shots are fired,” BSO spokeswoman Gerdy St. Louis mentioned in a news unencumber. “In the video, you see the scooter rider drop to the ground, as the 10-year-old boy takes off running. The vehicle turns north and flees the scene.”
