Hulen Mall age policy: Teens required to have parental guidance



The mall posted Saturday on Facebook that – between 2 p.m. and 9 p.m. – anybody below 17 years previous is required to have parental guidance for the day.

FORT WORTH, Texas — Hulen Mall introduced Saturday it could be implementing an age coverage that requires these below 17 years previous to have mum or dad guidance with them from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m.

The announcement was made on their social media web page and the response from commenters was usually in favor of the choice. 

“This needs to be done everyday! There are so many kids walking around and aren’t even shopping,” one commenter mentioned.

“Finally, maybe it will cut down the amount of nonsense that happens there,” mentioned one other.

Saturday, January twenty eighth, from 2pm to 9pm we will probably be imposing a parental guidance required coverage. Anyone 17 and below will probably be required to be with a mum or dad or grownup guardian.

WFAA reached out to Hulen Mall reps, who mentioned the parental guidance required (PGR) coverage was solely in impact for the day and was carried out for the protection of customers. Here is the total assertion: 

“Our highest priority is the safety and well-being of our guests, tenants and everyone who visits the mall. We have a robust security program in place that we are constantly evaluating, and the implementation of PGR is just one example of this process. The PGR program is not permanent, it is set to occur only from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. today, Saturday, January 28th.”

Mall officers informed WFAA this resolution following a latest menace of disruptive, unsupervised youth in our purchasing heart, and they’re working at the side of Forth Worth PD. Mall officers mentioned they had been grateful for his or her partnership and help with FWPD.

More commenters within the Facebook thread supported the choice citing security issues on the mall. 

On Christmas Eve of 2022, the mall went on lockdown after a 45-year-old man was accused of making an attempt to take photographs or video of a lady in a restroom, after which pointing a weapon at somebody who intervened, in accordance to police. In late December of 2021, three individuals had been arrested with a gun, though no photographs had been fired inside or close to the mall, in accordance to police.
