Heavy Snow is on the Way

A WINTER STORM WARNING continues via Friday for many of the state.  The principal spherical of winter climate arrives this afternoon, beginning south and spreading northeast.  Temperatures will drop to the low 20s this afternoon with single digit wind chills.  Heavy snow will transfer into central Oklahoma by late afternoon and proceed via the night.  OKC may see as much as a half of a foot of snow.

Strong north winds will restrict visibilities and trigger blowing and drifting of snow.  An ice storm will develop in southeastern Oklahoma this afternoon via tonight with as much as a half of an inch of ice accumulations.  Lows will drop to close 11 levels with wind chills from -5 levels to -15 levels.  A winter combine will proceed throughout southeastern Oklahoma, with flurries in central Oklahoma Thursday morning.

Our subsequent spherical arrives in western Oklahoma Thursday morning, spreading east throughout the state. The snow arrives late morning via the afternoon for OKC with a further inch attainable. The snow will likely be gentle and powdery, blowing and drifting straightforward with a powerful north wind. Wind chills will keep under zero so bundle up!  Slick spots will stick round Friday morning and highs will solely climb to the mid 20s beneath sunny skies. We received’t climb above freezing till Sunday afternoon.
