Hallandale Beach teen wants to find driver who mowed him down, fled: ‘I’m in disbelief’


HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A 16-year-old from Hallandale Beach has been at Memorial Regional Hospital since Monday, recuperating from accidents sustained in a hit-and-run crash.

From his sanatorium mattress, Tyland Jackson informed Local 10 News that he’s thankful to be alive, however wants the driver who hit him to face justice.

“I’m just happy that I’m still alive and I thank God,” Jackson mentioned.

Jackson, a sophomore soccer participant at Hallandale Beach High School, was once creating a run to a comfort retailer when the driver hit him close to Foster Road and Northwest Eighth Avenue.

“He was dragged about a block-and-a-half and basically just left there,” Antanecia Stanley, Jackson’s mom, informed Local 10 News.

Witnesses described the automobile as an older-model, black Toyota Corolla.

“I’m in disbelief that this individual who hit me is still at large,” Jackson mentioned.

Detectives with the Hallandale Beach Police Department showed they’re chasing a number of leads surrounding the crash.

Jackson and his mother mentioned they hope for a large spoil quicker, reasonably than later.
