Hallandale Beach police seek man they say left puppy without food, water for weeks


HALLANDALE BEACH, Fla. – A Hallandale Beach man left a puppy out of doors with out a meals or water for just about a month, in keeping with police. Investigators are actually looking for him.

According to police, Ruben Morales, 55, left the “female bulldog mix” on the house on Southwest Eighth Avenue on Nov. 30 and officials rescued her on Thursday.

“The dog shows obvious signs of swelling, redness, hair loss, skin irritation, scabs, foul-smelling crusts and dry blood mixed with open wounds,” Hallandale Beach Police Department Detective Erik Camero wrote within the affidavit. “(Her) body showed little to no hair, which was thinning.”

A possible motive affidavit states neighbors were seeking to touch Morales in regards to the canine and later reported the cruelty to Broward County animal keep watch over officials.

Police stated Morales knew the canine wanted clinical remedy and left her anyway.

“It’s apparent that it has a severe skin condition,” HBPD Sgt. Nini McArdle advised Local 10 News on Tuesday. “While on scene, officers also discovered two juveniles inside of the residence, ages 12 and 5, who were left unattended.”

Child protecting products and services investigators are dealing with that side of the investigation, police stated.

McArdle referred to as the placement “serious.”

“We do not take this incident lightly,” she stated.

The canine used to be at an animal rescue and would require weeks of remedy as of Tuesday. Community contributors have arrange a GoFundMe page to assist finance remedy.
