A gunman shot and killed one individual and wounded another on a San Francisco subway train Wednesday morning, officers stated. Commuters fled the train when it pulled into the station within the metropolis’s Castro neighborhood, and authorities are searching for the gunman, police stated.
San Francisco Supervisor Myrna Melgar said the suspect ran out of the train whereas it was within the Castro station.
Overnight, San Francisco police released photos of an individual of curiosity within the case. The photos have been taken from video of the incident, according to a police statement. People who’ve information in regards to the individual have been requested to contact investigators.
Though the Castro neighborhood has famed ties to the LGBTQ neighborhood, police do not imagine the taking pictures focused the neighborhood or Pride month occasions, Officer Kathryn Winters of the San Francisco Police Department informed reporters.
“This appears to be an isolated incident,” Winters stated.
Supervisor Rafael Mandelman, who represents the Castro District, stated there was an altercation between individuals who might have recognized one another, in response to The Associated Press.
