Google Sued by Texas Over Biometric Data Privacy Claims

Texas sued Google over claims that the search-engine big is illegally capturing the biometric information of customers with out their consent, the most recent in a sequence of lawsuits by the state in opposition to tech corporations over on-line privateness.

Google, a unit of Alphabet Inc., has collected hundreds of thousands of biometric identifiers from Texas residents, together with voice prints and information of face geometry via merchandise like Google Photos and Google Assistant, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton mentioned Thursday in an announcement.
