Good Samaritans help woman whose car slid onto railroad tracks during icy weather; train approaching

OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) – One Oklahoma City driver confronted scary moments Thursday morning when her car slid off the street and onto train tracks during icy circumstances. Even scarier, a train was coming.

It occurred round 4:15 a.m. Thursday on the tracks alongside the intersection of Western and Britton.

Peyton Master mentioned she was headed dwelling after choosing up breakfast at a close-by McDonalds. When she made a right-hand flip, she slid onto the tracks.

“My wheels were just over the tracks,” mentioned Master. “They weren’t even touching the ground.”

She tried placing the car in reverse, however it will not budge. She then tried to push the car off the tracks however that didn’t work both. Master mentioned almost a dozen folks handed by with out stopping to help her.

That was when a pair driving by rolled down their window and requested if the younger woman wanted help. Maura and Roy Baker stopped to help Master to security.

“I was like, ‘you need to get out of the car now.’” mentioned Maura. “No matter what happens. We walked her across the street and just made sure she was in a safe place and stayed with her the whole time.”

The couple mentioned Master was solely sporting a sweatshirt and the climate had all of the sudden gotten worse.

“I had my hand around her shoulder because I thought we were just going to watch the car get demolished,” mentioned Maura.

The couple owns the Zero Tolerance Coffee and Chocolate Shop down the street from the tracks. They took her to the store, fed her breakfast, gave her scorching chocolate, and helped her heat up whereas she reached her mother and father.

Police arrived and monitored the intersection whereas a tow truck eliminated the car from the tracks and dropped it off on the espresso store. Master mentioned there was little to no harm to her car.
