Georgia athletes head to Florida to compete in Special Olympics – WSB-TV Channel 2


ATLANTA — Some native athletes are in Orlando, Florida for the Special Olympics.

Team Georgia left Saturday morning for the nationwide video games at Disney World.

Athletes will compete in eight occasions all subsequent week, and they’re excited.

“It would be an honor, though, it’s fun. All I am doing is helping the team out, and I do it every year almost,” mentioned Kentrell Battle, who will compete in the flag soccer occasion.

“I’m ready to go and I am going to win the gold metals,” mentioned Allison Ferrer, who might be representing Georgia in tennis.

The opening ceremony takes place on Sunday, and you may watch it on Channel 2.
