Gators Garner Hosting Rights for First & Second Rounds of NCAA Tournament


Florida is the No. 3 seed within the Top Right of the bracket and can host the First and Second Rounds on Dec. 2 & 3. 

 

GAINESVILLE, Fla. – Florida was awarded the No. 3 seed within the Top Right portion of the bracket and internet hosting rights for the NCAA Tournament on Sunday evening, because the Division I Women’s Volleyball Selection Committee revealed the 64-team area throughout an ESPNU tv broadcast.

This is the twenty eighth time in program historical past that the Gators earned internet hosting rights for the primary weekend of the NCAA Tournament. With the choice, Florida extends its streak to 32-consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, the third-longest energetic streak within the nation (Penn State – 42, Nebraska – 41).

Florida hosts its NCAA First & Second Round matches Friday and Saturday. The Gators will face Florida A&M on Friday at 7 p.m., whereas Florida Gulf Coast and Iowa State will sq. off at 4:30 p.m. The winners of every match will face each other on Saturday at 7 p.m.

Last season – the Gators made their strategy to this system’s twenty eighth Regional Semifinal – falling to No. 1 Louisville.

Florida completed the common season with a 23-5 document and earned this system’s twenty fifth SEC Championship an evening in the past after defeating Ole Miss in Oxford, Miss. The Gators posted a 15-3 document in league play to complete tied atop the standings with Kentucky.

Current volleyball reserved season ticket holders can now order their present seats by logging into their Florida Gators account and could have up till 5 p.m. ET Tuesday to reclaim their present reserved seats for the NCAA First and Second Round matches. For normal admission season ticket holders, in addition to most people, normal admission all-session passes for the NCAA First & Second Rounds will go on sale Monday at 9 a.m. on-line (follow this link for purchasing), on the Gator Ticket Office, situated between Gates 1 & 2 of Ben Hill Griffin Stadium or by calling the Gator Ticket Office at 352-375-4683. Any unclaimed season reserved tickets will go on sale beginning Wednesday at 9 a.m. Single-session tickets for most people can even go on sale Wednesday at 9 a.m.

CREDENTIALING NOTE: If you had been credentialed for the University of Florida common season, you’re robotically credentialed for all NCAA Tournament matches in Gainesville. Your credential might be obtainable on the Loading Dock of the Stephen C. O’Connell Center 90 minutes previous to first serve of Thursday’s opening match, in addition to 90 minutes previous to first serve of Friday’s match.
