French bulldog snatched during walk on L.A.’s Westside, police say


A French bulldog was nabbed Wednesday evening whereas on a walk with its proprietor on the Westside of Los Angeles, authorities stated — the newest in a rash of at-times violent robberies focusing on the favored breed, which may fetch a excessive worth on the black market.

The girl who owned the canine instructed police she was on a walk within the 8000 block of Cashio Street round 9:15 pm when a male suspect started to tug on the leash from behind, in response to a press release launched by the Los Angeles Police Department. The girl and man started to battle, at which level a second man pushed her to the bottom and helped wrestle the canine away, police stated.

One of the boys allegedly pointed a handgun at a bystander who tried to intervene, in response to authorities. The two suspects then fled with the canine in a dark-colored van.

The canine was described as a reverse brindle: blue and grey in coloration with a white chest.

French bulldogs have been nabbed in sometimes violent attacks in recent years. A 3-month-old French bulldog was also abducted during a house theft in Rosemead in July, and 9 French bulldog puppies were stolen from a Northridge house in September.

Most famously, two of Lady Gaga’s French bulldogs have been stolen in Hollywood in February 2021 after her canine walker was shot in the chest. A 12 months in the past, one other canine was stolen at gunpoint not removed from the place the performer’s canines have been nabbed.

Earlier this month, the man who shot Lady Gaga’s dog walker pleaded no contest to a cost of tried homicide and was sentenced to 21 years in jail.
