Former Miami-Dade School Board member Lubby Navarro arraigned in court


MIAMI – Former Miami-Dade School Board Vice Chair Lubby Navarro was once again in court Friday as she confronted a pass judgement on for a proper arraignment on more than one grand robbery and fraud fees.

The case stems from allegations that Navarro, 49, stole about $100,000 from the college district via making private purchases on her reputable credit card in 2022, simply ahead of she resigned from the board over a brand new state legislation prohibiting lobbyists from preserving elected positions.

Investigators mentioned the ones taxpayer-funded purchases ranged from meals, groceries, home equipment and holidays to 2 “silicone pregnancy bellies” used in an try to persuade her ex-boyfriend she was once anticipating.

Navarro has pleaded now not in charge to the costs and her legal professional, Ben Kuehne, mentioned he’s assured that she will likely be acquitted.

Kuehne requested for a jury trial on Friday.
