The Texas A&M Aggies are including depth to its secondary for the 2023 season.Â
Former Florida State defensive back Sam McCall formally dedicated to the Aggies Saturday morning to shut out the 2022 calendar 12 months. He may have three years of eligibility remaining with this system.Â
McCall, a former prime recruit out of Lakeland, Fla., served as a rotational participant on the Seminoles’ protection throughout his freshman season. He recorded 5 tackles, a go breakup and a compelled fumble.
The Aggies proceed so as to add depth to their secondary after losing eight defensive backs to the NFL draft and switch portal. Following the season finale win over No. 5 LSU, each freshmen cornerbacks Denver Harris and Smoke Bouie enter the portal. Juniors defensive back Antonio Johnson and junior cornerback Jaylon Jones introduced their intent to forgo their senior 12 months to go to the professionals.Â
McCall is the second former ACC defensive again to hitch this system this offseason. Former North Carolina cornerback and All-ACC honorable point out Tony Grimes dedicated to the Aggies earlier this month.Â
Grimes performed in 37 video games with the Tar Heels over the earlier three years. He recorded 97 whole tackles, 19 go breakups and an interception. He is predicted to battle to reps on each the boundary and within the nickel.Â

The Aggies additionally added three defensive backs as a part of their 2023 recruiting class with SI99 alum Jayvon Thomas from Dallas’ South Oak Cliff (Texas), Bravion Rogers from La Grange (Texas), and Dalton Brooks from Shiner (Texas).Â
McCall is predicted to play security for Texas A&M. The Aggies will open the 2023 season at Kyle Field towards New Mexico on Sept. 2
