Former Athens mayor sentenced to federal prison

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, James Monte Montgomery, 65, pleaded responsible to federal fees of sending obscene fabrics to a minor on Aug. 25, 2022. He used to be sentenced to 5 years in federal prison.
