Florida teen killed by man who feared being outed as gay, police say


A Florida teenager fatally shot one other teen as a result of he feared being outed as homosexual, police in Daytona Beach stated.

Jakari Webb, 19, was arrested Wednesday in reference to the taking pictures demise of Telan Mann, additionally 19, within the early hours of June 23, police stated.

Webb is being held with out bond on the Volusia County Jail. He faces three costs, together with first-degree homicide, resisting an officer and a probation violation. 

When requested on Friday if a hate crime cost could also be tacked on, Bryan Shorstein, govt director of the State Attorney’s Office for Florida’s seventh District, stated his workplace shall be “evaluating for additional charges.”

“Anything is possible at this point,” he stated.
