Florida Man Who Killed Co-Worker Over Affair Gets Life In Prison – CBS Miami


DAYTONA BEACH (CBSMiami/AP) — A person who kill a coworker for having an affair along with his spouse has been sentenced to life in jail.

A jury of seven girls and 5 males took two hours on Thursday to search out Damian DeRousha, 44, responsible of premeditated first-degree homicide within the February 2021 capturing of Donald Geno, 31, on the Volusia County Fleet Maintenance Facility.

DeRousha seemed straight forward as Circuit Judge Karen Foxman sentenced him to life in jail with out the potential of parole.

Prosecutors stated on the day of the capturing, DeRousha confirmed his spouse was having an affair with Geno.

Assistant State Attorney Andrew Urbanak instructed jurors in his closing argument this was not a case of self-defense. Instead, it was an “unprovoked cowardly murder.”

DeRousha sat in his pickup for 40 minutes at a close-by gasoline station earlier than driving to the power and confronting Geno, Urbanak stated.

“The defendant doesn’t hesitate when he walks through that gate,” Urbanak stated. “He’s like a shark in the water going after his prey. He walks straight to that bay where he knows Donald Geno will be.”
