Florida K-9 officers compete for ‘Top Dog’ during Sunday event


JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – On Sunday, K9 groups from throughout the state got here to Jacksonville to see who actually is “Top Dog.”

K9s United hosted its inaugural Law Enforcement K-9 Competition from 1 to five p.m. on the Bishop Kenny High School Athletic Complex.

The competitors will showcase the outstanding expertise of police canines to simulate conditions they encounter within the discipline, together with a timed impediment course, automobile bailouts, automotive window jumps, tunnel crawls, wall jumps and a terror impediment.

Participating Florida K-9 groups included the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office, Flagler County Sheriff’s Office, Taylor County Sheriff’s Office and the Florida Highway Patrol’s Jacksonville, Orlando and Ocoee departments.

All proceeds from the event will go in the direction of K9s United to assist present First Coast K-9 groups with the very important coaching, lifesaving tools and essential laws they should serve on the entrance strains.

Do you need to attend this event? Tickets are $5 for adults and youngsters are free. They could be bought on the gate.

Eventgoers can count on a day of enjoyable together with a rock-climbing wall, an inflatable impediment course, K-9 photograph alternatives, face portray, regulation enforcement static shows together with the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Mounted Unit, meals vans, drinks and extra.
