First Responders In Moore Keep Community Safe On Christmas

First responders throughout Oklahoma are engaged on Christmas whereas most individuals are enjoyable with household.

News 9’s Jordan Dafnis caught up with Moore Police Department.

“It’s my favorite holiday, oh yeah best time of year.”

He is often together with his spouse in the course of the vacation,

“My family is in the UK, so normally I’ll hang with my wife’s family and go with them. That’s the only thing I’m missing, church service this morning.”

But he would not thoughts engaged on Christmas, ensuring Oklahoman’s are protected.

“Its a regular day for me. It’s one of my regular work days so it wasn’t a big deal for me.”

Things have been fairly laid again within the morning.

“Today’s been quiet so far.”

But that may change immediately, Staff Sgt. Eric Thomas stated.

“Its nice to know that we are here if they need it. You know everyone is spending time with their family still doesn’t mean that stuff doesn’t happen, so it’s nice to be here if something does happen.”

Thomas has been with the division 11 years, his spouse was a dispatcher for 13 and now she is a firefighter in Edmond.

“It’s just one of those things when I got into it I knew I was going to have to work holidays at some point so it’s just kind of another day for us.

The team has a Christmas message for each of you.

“Have day get pleasure from it, spend time with your loved ones and bear in mind the actual motive this time of yr,” said Muter.

“Just be protected, have a merry Christmas, benefit from the holidays.”
