Feds seize nearly 72,000 undeclared pills at Texas border crossing – FOX13 News Memphis


BROWNSVILLE, Texas — U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers seized 71,590 undeclared pills from a U.S. citizen trying to achieve re-entry from Mexico on Sunday at the Los Indios International Bridge in Brownsville, Texas.

“This seizure of undeclared prescription medication was composed of sedatives and other medications that are classified as controlled substances by the Drug Enforcement Administration,” Port Director Tater Ortiz with the Brownsville Port of Entry mentioned in a ready assertion.

According to the company, the pills have been discovered hidden inside a 2015 Ford pushed by the 33-year-old man and included greater than 58,000 Xanax pills.

Officers seized the undeclared remedy together with the automobile, arrested the traveler and turned him over to the custody of Cameron County Sheriff officers for additional investigation.

According to the CBP, federal legislation permits vacationers to hold private use quantities of prescription drugs, typically thought of to be as much as a 90-day provide.
