Father of man killed in Davie police shooting lost his wife two days prior

DAVIE, Fla. – An investigation is ongoing after Davie police officials shot and killed a man in a residential community early Friday morning.

The father of that man spoke to Local 10 News in regards to the devastation he’s feeling.

Richard Amann stated his wife gave up the ghost simply two days prior to he lost his son.

“It’s a shame that had to happen, I didn’t expect that,” he stated.

Amann stated the evening of the shooting, his son Steven Amann were given a decision about his good friend Frank wanting scientific consideration.

“A friend called him in a rage,” Amann stated. “His daughters, 10 and 12 (years old), said he fell down and he went in the car right away and that’s the last I heard from him.”

Amann stated, relating to his son Steven, that the loss of his mom used to be crushing to him.

“He wanted to be with his mother in heaven, that’s all I can think,” stated Amann. “He was real close to his mother.”
