Family Dollar workers save Shih Tzu that was found in dumpster with rope around its neck, Florida deputies say



LEHIGH ACRES, Fla. – A canine in Southwest Florida is convalescing after deputies mentioned it was the sufferer of horrendous animal cruelty.

Workers at a Family Dollar retailer in Lehigh Acres found the canine in a dumpster at the back of the shop on Thursday.

The canine was found filled in a black trash bag, with a rope around its neck.

The workers rushed the canine to an animal clinic and referred to as the Lee County Sheriff’s Office.

Detectives replied to the shop and mentioned they found surveillance video, which confirmed a person take a black bag from the trunk of a blue Hyundai SUV. He was then noticed tossing the bag into the dumpster and using away.

Detectives realized that the 16-year-old Shih Tzu named Zyla were microchipped.

They say they used that information to trace down Anthony Bellman, 55.

They say Bellman advised circle of relatives that he was taking Zyla to the Humane Society to be euthanized.

Bellman was charged with legal annoyed animal cruelty, and booked into the Lee County prison.

He bonded out of prison on Friday.
