Erling Haaland & Phil Foden on ‘dream’ Manchester derby hat tricks


Hat trick heroes Erling Haaland and Phil Foden have commented on their ‘dream’ Manchester derby win over Man Utd on the Etihad Stadium on Sunday.

The two younger stars had been in impressed type within the win, sharing City’s six objectives between them, with Haaland additionally bagging a brace of assists as well.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the sport, Foden referred to as his derby hat trick a ‘dream come true’.

“It’s a dream come true, playing in the derby, being a City fan as well. Me and Erling have built a connection now and we’re finding each other [with the ball].

“It’s been a pleasure to be part of this crew.”

As expected, Haaland was slightly more muted in his assessment of his first derby, and third hat trick in three home league games, stating: “Yeah, not dangerous.

“We scored six goals, what can you say, it’s amazing to win at home and score six goals here…yeah…it’s nice.”

“You can feel it all the time, you see the passes we give each other, we always want to go forward. We always want to attack and this is what I love about this team.

“In the top, it is superb, there’s nothing extra to say.”

“I feel we get one every, no?” Foden said when asked about which hat trick scorer would get to keep the match ball. “Yeah I feel we’ve to,” replied Haaland. “One for the primary half and one for the second half.”
