WASHINGTON — Rep. Anna Eshoo, a Democrat representing portions of California’s Silicon Valley, introduced Tuesday that she won’t run for reelection subsequent yr, marking the top of her greater than three decades in Congress.

“I’m choosing this beautiful season of Thanksgiving to announce that I will not be seeking reelection,” Eshoo stated in a video posted on X, the platform previously referred to as Twitter. “And I do so with a heart filled with unending gratitude to you, my magnificent constituents.”

Eshoo’s retirement will most likely kick off a fierce race for her seat in California’s sixteenth Congressional District, which encompasses Silicon Valley in addition to portions of Santa Jose and San Mateo County.
