Delivery driver hit man outside Aventura townhome, threw packages and bolted, police say



AVENTURA, Fla. – A driver turning in packages to an Aventura townhome advanced in December struck a man along with his automotive and took off quickly after, consistent with police. Authorities arrested him Tuesday.

According to Aventura police, Trevon Honnel Linton, 21, of Pembroke Pines, was once riding on behalf of “crowdsourced delivery platform” Roadie when he hit the man on Dec. 2 on the Promenade at Aventura Apartments, situated at 19706 E. Country Club Drive.

The man, police mentioned, was once grabbing his daughter after she chased a football ball into the road when Linton hit him within the legs and ankles, accidents which might ship him to the health facility.

Police mentioned two witnesses have been ready to prevent Linton via status in entrance of his car.

An arrest file states that Linton informed them “I just need a safe place to turn around.”

He then threw two packages out of his window and sped off after the witnesses mentioned they have been calling police, it states.

After government recognized him thru Roadie, Linton grew to become himself in to the Aventura Police Department on Tuesday, the place he declined to talk with officials, police mentioned.

He was once arrested on a rate of leaving the scene of a crash inflicting severe physically harm and was once being held within the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center on a $5,000 bond, consistent with prison information.

Local 10 News contacted UPS, which owns Roadie, looking for remark at the incident and Linton’s standing with the corporate.
