Deadly shooting involving police in Sanger, Texas



SANGER, Texas — Texas Rangers are actually investigating a lethal shooting involving a deputy with the Denton County Sheriff’s Office (DCSO), in response to a news release from the office.

Denton County deputies had been referred to as to assist Sanger police with what was described as a “welfare check and possible domestic disturbance involving a male suspect with a weapon.”

The name was reported in the 300 block of Lake Ridge Drive at 11:17 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 9. The DCSO stated police from Krum and Pilot Point had been additionally referred to as to help.

When Sanger officers made contact with the suspect, a Denton County deputy shot the person in the course of the “struggle,” in response to DCSO. The man was later pronounced lifeless.
