De La Fuente Finishes Second at Argent Financial Classic


CHOUDRANT, La. – University of Houston senior Santiago De La Fuente fired his 3rd instantly sub-par spherical and completed with a three-day rating of 11-under 205 to tie for 2nd following the Final Round of the Argent Financial Classic at Squire Creek Country Club on Tuesday afternoon.
 
De La Fuente posted a 71 within the Final Round at the 7,105-yard, par-72 direction to sign up for UAB’s Khavish Varadan in a tie for 2nd and completed two strokes in the back of medalist Owen Stamper from Middle Tennessee.

Following the Argent Financial Classic, the Cougars will compete in two other tournaments. Houston will compete as a crew at the Wake Forest Intercollegiate at Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Ill., on Sept. 18-19.
 
In a contemporary addition to the crew’s time table, the Cougars will ship 4 student-athletes to compete as people at the Papago Individual Event at Papago Golf Course in Tempe, Ariz., on Sept. 18-19.
 
From there, Houston will face Sam Houston in a 36-hole fit play tournament all over the Robert Steele Cup at Golfcrest Country Club in Pearland, Texas, on Oct. 3. This is also a contemporary addition to the Cougars’ fall time table.
